MARK PACELLA

STORYBOARDS/CONCEPT ILLUSTRATION & CHARACTER DESIGN

Growing up in New Jersey & NYC, Mark’s work has been published in The New York Times,The National Law Journal, Mother Jones Magazine, The National Review, The Village Voice and The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists to name just a few. This editorial insight served him well when he later went on to work in the comic book medium where he co-won the prestigious Jack Kirby award in 1986. Mark’s work on the now famous issue of Alpha Flight for Marvel comics spotlighted the first openly gay superhero, in a benchmark story dealing with AIDS. Selling out in one week it became a featured story on CNN.

Moving ahead, Mark turned his attention to Hollywood where for the past several years he has made his living supplying concept art and storyboards for numerous clients ranging from theme parks and animation to special effects in features and television.
